Although five Scouts from the troop arrived expecting to participate in a three color guard opening ceremony, it became apparent that a joint color guard would be best suited for the event. The Smithsonian Honor Guard provided riflemen, the National flag, and their organizational colors. The Girls Scouts provided their organizational colors and musicians. The troop (having to stage state and organizational flags at another event) provided BSA representation with its Troop flag.
